Our client, an established and growing law firm in Sunderland, is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join its friendly and supportive team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some relevant accounts or finance experience who is looking to build a long-term career. The firm is keen to support the successful candidate in completing a professional AAT qualification, likely through an apprenticeship route.
The Role
Working as part of the firm’s accounts function, you will provide day-to-day support with a range of financial and administrative duties.
Depending on your existing experience, your responsibilities may include:
- Processing payments, receipts and invoices
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Assisting with bank reconciliations
- Supporting client and office account transactions
- Helping to process expenses
- Responding to internal accounts enquiries
- Assisting with month-end procedures
- Using the firm’s accounts and case management systems
- Ensuring that work is completed accurately and within required timescales
- Providing general administrative support to the accounts team
Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
About You
Ideally, you will have:
- Some previous experience within an accounts, finance or bookkeeping role
- An interest in developing a career in legal accounts
- Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- A professional and reliable approach
- The ability to maintain confidentiality
- A willingness to learn and work towards an AAT qualification
Previous experience within a law firm would be helpful but is not essential.
