Conveyancing Assistant with 18 months experience required in Harrogate
Our client, an established and friendly law firm based in Harrogate, is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Conveyancing Assistant to join its reputable and growing Residential Conveyancing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with an experienced Conveyancer within a supportive, down-to-earth firm with a strong client base and a friendly team culture.
The role would suit someone with at least 18 months’ experience in residential conveyancing who is keen to continue developing their skills. For the right person, there may also be the opportunity to progress towards running a small caseload independently, with supervision and support.
The Role
You will support the Conveyancer with a varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including:
- Sales and purchases
- Transfers of equity
- Remortgages
- Taking initial enquiries
- Providing quotes
- Answering client queries
- Managing client expectations
- Drafting legal documents and correspondence
- Updating case management systems and databases
- Liaising with estate agents, lenders and other third parties
- Attending meetings where required
- General administration and file management
The team will take an active interest in your training and development, making this a great opportunity for someone who wants to build a longer-term career in conveyancing.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A minimum of 18 months’ experience in a similar conveyancing role
- A genuine interest in residential conveyancing
- Strong client care and customer service skills
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
- Good IT skills
- Experience using case management systems would be desirable, although training will be provided
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A clear understanding of confidentiality and data protection
- The ability to work well as part of a team, while also using your own initiative
- A full clean driving licence would be advantageous
- Ideally, you will live within a reasonable commute of Harrogate
