Employment Solicitor 5PQE+ required in Leeds
Our client, an established and friendly law firm based in Leeds, is looking to recruit an experienced Employment Solicitor to join its growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Employment Solicitor to take on a varied caseload, work closely with senior management and play an important role in developing the firm’s Employment offering.
The firm has a down-to-earth, approachable culture, a strong client base and further growth plans. This role would suit someone who enjoys client contact, wants autonomy and is keen to help build relationships with local businesses, HR professionals and professional contacts.
The Role
You will handle a full and varied caseload of Employment matters from start to finish, including both employee and employer work.
Matters may include:
- Unfair dismissal and wrongful dismissal claims
- Discrimination matters
- Settlement agreements
- Employment Tribunal proceedings
- Pay and wage issues
- Employment contracts
- HR advice
- Redundancy matters
- General employment law advice for individuals and businesses
You will work closely with the Managing Director and will have the support of a Paralegal/Trainee to assist with the caseload and administrative tasks, supported by the firm’s case management system.
There will also be scope to help develop the department and maintain strong local relationships with businesses, HR companies and referrers.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A minimum of 5–6 years’ experience in Employment law
- Confidence running a full and varied caseload
- Experience advising both employees and employers
- Strong client care and communication skills
- The ability to manage deadlines and work well under pressure
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Good IT skills
- Experience using a case management system, such as Proclaim, Quill or similar, would be desirable
- Excellent attention to detail
- A clear understanding of confidentiality and data protection
- The ability to work well as part of a team, while also using your own initiative
- A willingness to support, train and develop junior members of staff
- Ideally, you will live within a reasonable commute of Leeds
