Our client, a large and well-regarded law firm, is looking to recruit a Tax Lawyer to join its specialist Corporate Defence and Compliance team.
The role can be based in Leeds, Manchester or London and offers highly flexible hybrid working, making it an attractive opportunity for someone looking for quality work alongside greater flexibility.
This would ideally suit a Tax Lawyer with around 2–3 years’ PQE who has experience of tax disputes, investigations or contentious tax matters.
The Role
You will advise clients on a varied range of tax disputes and compliance matters, which may include:
- HMRC enquiries and investigations
- Tax disputes and litigation
- Voluntary disclosures
- Corporate tax compliance issues
- Fraud and financial crime-related tax matters
- Negotiations and correspondence with HMRC
- Advising businesses, directors and individuals on tax risk
- Supporting clients through tribunal and court proceedings
You will work closely with colleagues across the firm, including Corporate, Regulatory, Commercial Litigation and Private Client teams.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Around 2–3 years’ PQE, although applications from candidates outside this range will also be considered
- Experience in tax disputes, tax litigation, investigations or contentious tax work
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Excellent drafting and written communication skills
- Confidence dealing with clients, HMRC and other professional advisers
- A practical, commercially aware approach
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to manage competing deadlines
