Conveyancer with at least 5 years' experience required in Leeds

Our client, an established and friendly law firm based in Leeds, is looking to recruit an experienced Conveyancer to join its reputable and growing Residential Conveyancing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Conveyancer to join a thriving and expanding firm with a strong local client base and a down-to-earth, supportive culture.

The role would suit someone who enjoys managing their own files, building strong relationships with clients and referrers, and being part of a busy, well-regarded conveyancing department.

The Role

You will handle a full and varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to completion, including:

  • Sales and purchases
  • Freehold and leasehold matters
  • Transfers of equity
  • Remortgages
  • Shared equity
  • Staircasing
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage brokers, lenders and other solicitors
  • Managing files efficiently using a case management system
  • Ensuring all matters are handled in line with compliance and quality standards

You will have the support of a Conveyancing Assistant working with you on a 1-1 basis to assist with the caseload and administrative tasks.

There will also be the opportunity to help build the team and develop local working relationships with estate agents, mortgage brokers and other professional contacts.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a similar conveyancing role
  • Confidence managing a full caseload of approximately 60–100 files
  • Experience handling matters from start to finish
  • Strong client care and customer service skills
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • The ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines
  • Good IT skills
  • Experience using a case management system, such as Proclaim, Redbrick, Quill or similar, would be desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A clear understanding of confidentiality and data protection
  • The ability to work well as part of a team, while also using your own initiative
  • A willingness to support, train and develop junior members of staff
  • A full clean driving licence would be advantageous
  • Ideally, you will live within a reasonable commute of Harrogate
