An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Law Costs Draftsperson or Costs Lawyer to develop their career in a leading and highly respected law firm.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Law Costs Draftsperson or Costs Lawyer to develop their career in a leading and highly respected law firm.

Your caseload will include a broad and varied mix of civil and commercial costs recovery work, with the main focus being on costs management work. In addition, you will be required to undertake all work associated with bills of costs and points of dispute. You will be dealing with a substantial client base, including some high value work.

There will also  be marketing responsibilities and the potential to manage some client relationships going forward.

You will need to be professional and articulate and be capable of building and developing relationships both internally and externally. You must also be adept at engaging with other professionals.

Experience required:

  • 4 years’ minimum experience working with legal costs in a high volume, deadline driven environment
  • Competent and comfortable using Costs Master and/or other costing systems
  • Excellent business development and networking skills
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills are essential
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • A sound understanding of the interplay between costs management and detailed assessment
  • Experience working with the electronic bill of costs

This is a full time, permanent role with working hours of 9.00am – 5.00pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, with one hour for lunch.

Salary negotiable on experience.
