Highly ranked commercial law firm requires an additional Corporate Recovery Lawyer to strengthen its’ busy team in Leeds.

Highly ranked commercial law firm requires an additional Corporate Recovery Lawyer to strengthen its’ busy team in Leeds.

You will handle a mix of non-contentious and contentious corporate and personal insolvency work. Joining a reputable team led by 3 partners, you’ll handle a mixture of high quality work including:

  • Acting for insolvency practitioners in respect of their appointment as administrators/liquidators/administrative receivers/trustee in bankruptcy
  • Drafting and negotiating sale agreements, dealing with property issues, creditor issues and retention of title issues
  • Assisting clients in the disposal of company assets and carrying out investigations in respect of directors’ conduct and antecedent transactions
  • Making and progressing various Court applications
  • Acting for LPA Receivers
  • Drafting Company Voluntary Arrangements
  • Defending director disqualification proceedings
  • Drafting Individual Voluntary Arrangements
  • Working with private equity providers as well as private individuals, directors, shareholders and creditors
  • Working with banks, asset-based lenders and other financial stakeholders
  • Building client relationships and active role in business development

They are open to consider Solicitors at all levels from NQ to senior.

You will need:

  • At least 6 months experience within a reputable corporate recovery department, ideally with a national firm or recognised regional commercial practice.
  • Good academics.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Business development/marketing skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
