Our History

Bailey Hunter was founded in 2008 by Claire Cox. Claire has over 20 years of experience working in the legal sector. She qualified as a Solicitor in 1998 and practised as a Solicitor in Newcastle for 3 years.

In 2002, she made her move into recruitment, then heading up the legal division. After six years successfully placing candidates in law firms, Claire realised she had a talent for recognising exactly what kind of people were needed to build an effective law firm.

In 2008, she founded Bailey Hunter, with the goal of building an exceptional recruitment consultancy that specialised completely in legal roles. Since then, she has established an excellent reputation in the industry for delivering a high-quality service and sourcing exceptional talent. She works with some of the top law firms in Yorkshire and the North East.

Her candidate database is extensive, and she is passionate about helping people progress their careers within the legal sector. Because of her wide-ranging industry knowledge and expertise, she can give invaluable advice to ensure that candidates are effective in communicating with potential employers.

For Claire, the most important aspect of what she does is matching the right people to the right positions. She has an ability to not only find candidates that are the right fit for a company, but also ensuring companies are the right fit for the candidate too.
