Job Title: Accounts Assistant   Ref no: BH2294
Location: Newcastle      
Salary: Negotiable      
Commercial Law Firm in Newcastle requires an Accounts Assistant to join their busy Accounts team. This is a full time position working from the hours of 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday and includes the following responsibilities:

- Dealing with day-to-day transaction
processing, including client payments,
client receipts, bill receipts,
disbursements, transfers and banking

- Checking bills of costs and allocation of

- Completion of bank reconciliations for
office, client and deposit accounts

- Dealing with fee earner queries

- Checking of completion statements

- Posting of interest

- Dealing with cash expenses and accurate
recording of cash

- Dealing with nominal postings and any
relevant VAT

- Running of reports as necessary

- Ad hoc accounting duties

You will need:

- A minimum of 12 months experience working in
a Law Firm as a Legal Cashier or Accounts

- A good working knowledge of Excel

- Experience with case management software
would be advantageous.

- The ability to prioritise, cope under
pressure and work to strict deadlines.

- Good communication skills as well as being
able to manage expectations across a wide
range of competing needs and being part of a
small team requires a willingness to cover a
variety of tasks and work outside core hours
on occasion.

Salary is negotiable depending on experience plus good benefits package including contributory pension, 25 days holidays + bank holidays (rising to 30 days with length of service), life insurance, private medical insurance, competitive maternity and paternity benefits.
